I wanted pink-winged stick insects soooo bad… and boy, did I get them! 😂💕
I currently have about 20 baby pink-winged stick insects. Some were sent to me as smaller babies, but most of them I actually hatched myself!
They started hatching last Wednesday, September 16th, and for a while I was having multiple babies hatch every single day. Within the past 48 hours, though, I’ve only had one new baby make its grand entrance. So either they’re finally slowing down… or this little pink-winged baby boom has officially come to an end. 😂
Although, knowing my luck, I’ll probably publish this and wake up to five more.
I still have more eggs incubating too — both pink-winged eggs and eggs from other species — so there are hopefully plenty more tiny surprises coming to Honey’s Pretty Little Creatures. 💕
Here are some pictures of my pink-winged babies:
I seriously cannot wait to watch them grow into adults. Adult pink-winged stick insects are so pretty, delicate, pink and elegant. There’s something about them that reminds me of little ballerinas — especially when they stretch out those long legs and show off their gorgeous wings. 🎀🩰

💕 More Honey’s Pretty Little Creatures Updates 💕
Of course, the pink-winged baby explosion isn’t the only thing happening around here. My little creature collection has had a lot of exciting updates lately!
♥ Meet Halo! I got a gorgeous female lichen morph Extatosoma tiaratum — also known as a Giant Prickly Stick Insect — and named her Halo. 🤍
♥ I started two thriving little colonies: one colony of Cherry Blossom Isopods and another colony of Pink Dragon Millipedes. Obviously they had to be pink. Would you expect anything else from me? 😂💕
♥ My incubator is still very busy! I currently have eggs incubating from Malaysian Jewel stick insects, Velvet Black Beauty stick insects, Pink Oblong Katydids, and Giant Prickly Leaf insects. With the Giant Pricklies, I’m hoping to raise them under the right conditions to encourage that gorgeous lichen morph appearance. 🤍🌿
I’m impatiently waiting for another species to finally hatch because, as much as I adore my pink-winged babies, I want to open the incubator and be surprised by somebody different for once! 😂
♥ Willow, my very first Orchid Mantis, officially molted into a beautiful adult. 🦋🤍 Watching her grow from the little mantis I originally brought home into an adult has been so special.
♥ Baby Doll, my youngest Orchid Mantis, also had a successful molt yesterday! She’s growing up way too fast. 🥹💕
♥ I’ve downsized my spider collection quite a bit. I got rid of all of my spiders except for Baby Jane & Monarch, my female and male jumping spiders. Those two get to stay members of the Honey household. 🕷️👑
Between babies hatching, mantids molting, colonies growing and eggs incubating, there’s always something happening in the House of Honey. 💕
I’m hoping my next update includes a brand-new species finally making its tiny debut. Until then, I’ll just be over here checking my eggs approximately 700 times a day. 😂
Until next time…
💋 Lyssa Honey
